As the readings clearly point out that text is not restricted to the written content that we encounter on our day to day basis. In a more nuanced sense, it would be worthwhile to understand texts as anything that conveys a set of meanings to the person who is attempting to examine it. To that extent, everything around us is a text. Right from books to novels to social media posts to videos to artefacts to speeches to bodies and so; all fall under the category of text. They reflect a specific meaning that can be textually deciphered.
